  • Can I bother you and ask if the external wire antenna shown in the video come with the PL600? if not where did you purchase the parts to make it ? GREAT video thanks for sharing

  • External wire antenna is the very famous Fritzel FD4 ( check it on sardif.com website's search engine ). You can also build one by yourself with a balun and insulators.

    Kind regards,

    Frederick F4BED

  • @VIDEOS2ROMEO Great Site bro! Did you make that cable and connector that you show plugging into the pl-600 or is that supplied with the antenna kit also ? I am definitely going to look into those antennas more . I just really liked that connector you made .. is that a coax to 3.5mm headphone connector ? can't tell if its coax or just regular thick gauge wire , the connector looks GREAT quality , all the connectors I have seen or bought aren't nearly as nice looking . Thanks again for the reply

  • @jwile20vt You can find this jack/SO239 adapter on the website (search for CU13). The coaxial cable is not provided with the FD4 antenna, but you can use any 50 ohms coaxial cable (RG213U, H155, ECOFLEX 10, RG58U...)

Be carreful not to use an external antenna with too much gain, so your receiver will be "overloaded" (I'm not sure of my translation!). Anyway, a wire antenna would be great with such receivers.

    Kind regards,

    Frederick F4BED

  • I appreciate your answer a lot! that is the kind of information I was waiting long ago. I will buy a PL-600 and will probably upload my experiences in YouTube :)

    Regards

  • @gnzvideos : PL-310 and PL-380 are 2 good tiny receivers (especially PL-380), but if you can purchase a PL600, it's much better in sensitivy and selectivity!

SSB reception is more than correct on PL600, so this would be my first choice! The only competitor I can see is Sangean ATS909, which may be even better, but more expensive, and a bit bigger.

    Kind regards,

    Frederick

  • @VIDEOS2ROMEO: Hi! Im also looking to replace my old SW radio and PL-600 is one of my choices.

Let me ask you if you have any experience with PL-310 or PL-380 and if any of them are better than PL-600.

    Many thanks Frederick!
