Heather O'Reilly won MVP honors after scoring the lone goal and making a key tackle in Sky Blue FC's 1-0 victory over the Los Angeles Sol in the WPS Championship presented by MedImmune on Saturday, Aug. 22 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

@ElmoNiteLite2110 The red card was given not only because of the possible elbow to the back of Kai, but for taking away a scoring opportunity from her. That is an immediate red card, no matter if it is accidental or purposeful. And i would have been shocked if a red card wasn't given for that. Sorry, but i've seen this happen many times in men's and women's soccer, and almost every time that has happened a red card has been given. Not a clean tackle, completely deserving of the red.

Shouldnt have been a red card, she was trying to get a better angle to pop ball away, feet intermingled and they both went down and I do disagree with her being last defender, I think the girl in the middle would have easily gotten there in time.
Commentator was stupid...if her elbow had hit her, you would have seen the girl's head move from impact and we would have seen her holding her head

@Frantzu I dont watch WPS (didnt know about it till recently), but im going to go with that they are normally blue but LA was black and depending on color of the blue, blue and black could be easily confused while black and orange are clearly different.

Obviously a red card. She tripped Kai and stopped the play when kai would've been in a one on one situation with the goalkeeper, very good call from the referee. and any game, men or women's, would've had the same result.
