  • This is so beautiful.

  • @paintingangels This is the version I've known for many years. I didn't realize until recently Bill Anderson wrote it as well as being an actual hit of his. After hearing Bill's version, I still think this is the better of the two. Probably because the way the back up vocalists performed on this track! :-)

  • Damn music is crazy. This is so reminiscent of gospel but its country, all this stuff is related but its all different too. Sometimes this American music just blows my mind.

  • this is such a beautiful song this is the first time ive ever heard this

  • Fantastic video rest in peace Jimmy Dean.

  • RIP COUSIN!!

  • I can count the number of artists who mastered the art of recitations, Jimmy, Tex Ritter, Bill Anderson and Walter Brennan come to mind. But Jimmy has always been at the top of the list. A common misconception about recitations is that they are easier to do than singing lyrics. But they are not because with a recitation the true emotion is far more clearly heard. Rest in peace old friend, I'm sure that God made this his first request when you arrived.

  • RIP Jimmy. We have all been blessed with your presence.

  • Great memories of jimmy on Daniel Boone he was a regular on the later seasons. Loved all three big john songs Sorry I will not get to see you in October for your Country Music Hall of Fame induction.

  • RIPJD
