This is my attempt at replacing the battery and housing on an Iphone 3g and it was actually easier than I thought it would be. The hardest part has got to be putting it back together.

  • Hi this is an excellent video. May I know how did you go about taking the silver bezel off like the volume button holder etc. The screw driver I have is about the same length as yours but its too long to accurately take out the volume button holder screws. Can you please help.

  • @geezezy you should be able to get them out at an angle, the bezel is held in with three screws where the volume buttons are, those aren't the easiest screws to get out but they came out for me with that screw driver. I would have filmed that but the stuff after the battery removal was really time consuming for me. hope that helps

  • is there some kind of glue between the bezel and case?

  • Hi, i'm replacing my 3G's housing as well. The problem is, I can't seem to get those 2 black plastic pieces at the very end off. Is there any easier way to take them off without using a whole lot of force? I'm afraid i'll break it.

  • @inam188 Sounds like one of the cables is loose, reclip them back in x

  • @inam188 make sure the ribbon cables are connected properly they should click into place

  • Just one thing when the new cover has been fitted. As the top is shown where the headphone socket is there should b a metal ground band that he did not take out of the old case and fit to the new one. So this means no handsfree or headphones will work in the Iphone.

  • I done everything you said and fitted in the battery but the iphone 3g screen does not turn on. The phone however is on as the vibrate buttion works. All i can see is a black screen i.e no part off the screen is working. Could anyone help me and address the issue i seem to be having and what steps i should take to correct it thanks

  • Hehe Nice vid. I thought it would be easier. I wont try it :)

  • fuccccckkkkkk this is makin' me fuckin' wilddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
