Any idea how much a challenger float kit costs?

Great video but that pilot need to relax a bit... I got nervous just watching him twitch around.... A relaxed pilot is a better pilot.....

Floats can cost anywhere from $5k on up. I have a set of 12ft puddle jumper type floats for sale for $2k. They are two short for a dual place aircraft but would be excellent for a single place.

Opps , i mean a 503?
LukeaNorman 3 years ago
Yes Luke. It is a 503 DCDI from Rotax. It's like a 503 skidoo engine that has heavier bearings and seals and also a complete dual ignition system. Two cylinders with four plugs and two coils.

Great vid , i always wondered who owned the plane behind ultramar, whast it have for an engine, 502 rotax?

Hi Lukea,
Thanks for the commnet. Yes, my plane does have a 503 Rotax in it. Unlike most 503 Rotax engines, this one has been designed for aircraft and so has dual carburators and a complete dual ignition system. It puts out about 52hp and drive around 350lbs of thrust at full trottle (6700rpm's). At cruise, (5800 rpm's) I get about about 57mph airspeed.
Thanks for your interest.
