Running my conduit and 6/3 main wire from the house CB box to the Shop.
Might have power up and running by tomorrow evening. The conduit on top of the roof will be lifted and secured on blocks.

  • looking good! ... well.. acutaly it looks like a lot of work! lol!

  • @captjeff78 - Yeah the trench part was the worst part. Conduit and pulling wire was easier that I thought.

  • YAAAA...got a knife done yet? It's been hours since you posted..=)

  • @PintoBlades So when ya gonna start grinding? Can't wait to see what ya come up with.

  • @ArtistBlade1972 - yep....got power! I did look up the directional boring on YT. There are several vids on it...pretty cool deal.

  • @PintoBlades No attic? ugh that sucks. well at least ya got power. :)

  • @ArtistBlade1972 - Yeah that would have worked if I had an attic...lol . My home is a spanish style flat top out here in New Mexico. There is no attic and the space between the ceiling and the roof is only 6 inches (height of the 2x6 rafters). Sucks yes I know, I would never buy a flat top roof ever again. We do get water pooling up there and thats why im going to put blocks under the conduit I ran across the top. The directional boring would have been ideal in my situation.

  • @PintoBlades Around 200 bucks give or take a little for a job like yours. You supplying the wire of course.

It would be more esthetically pleasing. Without the boring option, I would've ran your wire inside the wall to the attic, went across there, then shot it across in the air to your shop from a weatherhead mounted on each.

  • @ArtistBlade1972 - What might the cost be on one of these drilling jobs, like in your area?

  • @ArtistBlade1972 - Wow...I had no idea that could be done! I don't even know if anyone in our town can do that though. Seems the two electricians that surveyed my situation would have mentioned it. But yeah, that would have been nice. I will definitely see if anyone around here has that kind of equipment. If so, It might be something I might do later on to clean up this project. For now, at least I'll have some decent power to run my tools and get started. Thanks for that info for sure!
