After NS 153 provided the needed delay, P48 got the signal to proceed off of the siding at Grif but came into Oakwood with an approach. Never in my life have I seen a train go through the approach signal at Oakwood, let alone stop. As it turns out, the NS C40-9W's on the point (OLS-schemed 9251 and traditionally-painted 9426) were making a switching maneuver. They were to switch Crystal Farms just north of Oakwood and Atex just south of Chicopee. With the train stopped, we decided to get ahead of it again.
At the Tumbling Circle crossing, we waited for about an hour for the two GE's to finish their switching. Impressively, 30 or so cars were moved around Crystal Farms before the train continued north to Chicopee. After asking for the signal at Chicopee, P48 proceeded north with an approach at the south end of the siding. With brakemen all over the train and my camera battery dying, I stopped recording as the train stopped to switch. I hung around with Casey and talked to the crew members a little bit, and then headed for home.
More good PR for NS: I'm very thankful that all of the employees I encountered today were nice folks, and I'm glad to see that the railroad takes pride in that. They definitely completed my Christmas this year! Thanks all, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year! Now to get my wisdom teeth taken out...
@FastFlyingVirginian It was indeed. As was the one three cars in front of the front ex-BN hopper. The CR logo was still on the last PC hopper, though. On the first, the Penn Central lettering was clearly visible.

Nice catch...that next to last hopper looked like it was PC jade green, with part of the original lettering in the center and a CR logo in one corner.
