I was wrong in my judgement of Matt. He is a good person in a tough situation that deserves to complete his education. He has indirectly taught me that I shouldn't judge those that have lived a different life than the one I am experiencing.

How about we discuss those looking for handouts that EXPECT people to donate. Those people piss me off and after a brief conversation with Matt I discovered he is NOT one of them. I said some negative things in that comment but he responded with humility and kindness. So what do I do now? Do I delete that comment which would deny others the ability to fully understand our conversation but also remove any possible negative response to Matt? Or do I leave it on here to maintain structure?

Your sentiments are widely shared. I wonder if you and those who share your mindset would be as likely to scold someone like Matt if the "services" they offered were of a non-academic nature. The fact is that YouTube can be a platform to EARN a profit in return for the production and sharing of quality content. What about videos of an academic nature exclude them from being a person's means to earn money? They provide a service along with an OPTION to donate. What about that is reprehensible?

i'd give you some money if i had any, Matt. i don't see anything wrong with you giving people the option to do so. it's not as if you get in people's faces about it. you don't even put adverts on your channel.

Honestly Matt who do you think you are to create a PayPal account so people can donate money to YOUR education? It is pretty pathetic and tells most people how 'special' you think you are. Most people work many years to pay off their education but since you are an over-privileged arrogant punk you think you are above that. Stop looking for handouts and grow up and work for what you want. I pity those like you and you will never have my respect.

But the foundation of reality/existence is emptiness. So the reason there are no new things is because there are no things to begin with.

If I try to argue what you just said I would thus be labeling myself a hypocrite. I have no problem admitting that my initial post was said out of ignorance. It's kind of funny that what you are saying about philosophy is happening in this conversation we are having.

its just like DNA. All the parts are there, what makes the different variation is the combination of things. There are no new pieces to make up new species, there are only new combinations of whats already there.

So in the same way with philosophy you take whats there, mix it up, and come up with something new. Matt is in the mixing stage as we all look on. What other era in history did philosophers have that to deal with that?? LMAO

But how can you improve on them if according to what you quoted "There is no new thing..."?
