its called love people. you do things for those you love. if you love you Dad, you do as he tells you. if you don't love your dad. well then you wouldn't do as he told you. duh. doing what the authority figure tells you is not being a robot. its being obedient.

Accept the truth!
You must slay your enemies and die in combat so that you can enter Valhalla. There is no other way, get to it!

@Isaiah6verse5 You have no problem with someone creating you knowing you will sin then sending you to hell forever due to only a lifetime of 'sins'. You are what we call dumb.

... So while old testament judgments 'Appears' unnecessary, the truth of the matter is that they could have very well been necessary. Often, things can look one way from a certain perspective, only to yield a better revelation from another. The problem comes when we assume the moral superiority of our own perspective, refusing to take the time to view the thing from different angles. Humilty takes the time and witholds judgment. Arrogance dismisses the effort, becoming intellectual laziness.

2 The old testament judgments you mentioned comes with a flaw in your unstated implications, either intended or unintended, of God's character - the assumption that the judgments were unjustified. But, if the heart of the people was such that it took such strident demands and actions to keep them in line, we're not in any place to condemn it. We can see from the Bible that the word "Stiff-necked" was applied many times to the ancient Hebrews... continued

There's a number of things wrong with this video.
1 Obedience does not cancel the will. According to the vid, obeying God makes you a robot. It does not. You still have the choice available to you to disobey, so choosing to obey is an act of the conscious will. Just as your children would choose to obey you if you told them to stay away from the street or face the consequences of disobedience. One choice does not render the other impossible. Only rejected. Thus, they are not robots.

Well this isn't very important to me because God had already chosen me to go to hell; I'm not a Jew...
Oh wait, in Judasim there's no heaven or hell!
So... Christians who believe in heaven and hell, are always sent to hell because they're not God's chosen people, although it only exists for them...

I think it's important to know that sin=consciousness of sin. The law creates consciousness of sin and therefore creates sin. Take away the law and there is no sin.

god gives people free will but than threatens them with hell fire if they use their free will to choose not to believe in god. that doesnt seem like free will if ur being forced

So many errors in such a short video.

Good video, though I would have suggested using Kraftwerk's "We Are The Robots" as the music. ;)

You are right. But you still have free will, even when you choose to do the will of God. You see when you are a Christian and you love God, you do His will, whcih in term becomes your will. Is easy! That is why Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddists, Jews, Atheist, and everyone else has free will. If you still do not understand, take a look at Matrix (the movie) when Morpheus offers The One the red and blue pills. Lol! Take care my friend!
Psalms 40:8 does not say the law is the will of God. It says "I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your Law is within my heart." so no, I disagree with you right there. Consequently I disagree with your definitions of Good and Evil, and Free will. Consequently we are talking at cross purposes, and the alleged errors are nothing but straw men.

asdaarg - Can you name any part of "the law" that goes against God's will?
How do YOU define Good and Evil? Can something be "Good" and still be contrary to the will of God, or "Evil" and be God's will?
If Freewill isn't the ability to NOT do God's will, then what is freewill? (Keep in mind that without freewill we would ALWAYS do God's will.)

one does not need to be "sinless" to gain entrance to heaven, thats impossible since we are born into a sinful world. one must be forgiven, which the bible says is available to anyone who asks of it.......
Big difference there....

Hamster3107 - You can't be "sinless" because it's impossible for you not to use your freewill.
The only reason God needs to forgive you is because you have used your will instead of following his.
He'll forgive you for using your freewill, IF you believe a specific story before you die... otherwise he won't forgive you for anything.
