I understand and share your sentiment, I don't believe at all in giving children everything that they want, however, when kids express an interest in music, I am going to do everything I can to support their interest. It is not at all a waste, in fact, this tuba has been used on stage by this little girl in the recent production of The Music Man, where she not only played it, but stole the show. I hope that you may be able to find a tuba for your school. I found several used ones.

Of all random instruments, why did she want a tuba? Nothing wrong with that of course, but as a kid I always wanted some kind of keyboard or a guiter. But that Sousaphone is bigger than she is! :)

We've responded to this type of comment before- we did not pay $10 grand for this tuba- that would be ridiculous. We researched ebay and contacted band friends and as a result we have this tuba on extended loan. She still plays it every day. Good luck finding your alto sax.
