Diandra got Drug-induced Lupus from taking a medicine called Solodyn, a minocycline. It has been two-years since she contracted it in 2008 after being on Solodyn for 11 months. It is listed as a severe side affect. Unfortunately there is no protocol in the AMA to treat drug-induced lupus except to go off the medicine but her symptoms were so severe doctors felt it needed treatment. Doctors treated it like SLE and gave her Plaquenil which gave her drug-induced lupus all over again. She does not have the Lupus gene.
At the present time she has a hard time walking fast and for any length of time. She use to be very active.
At her worse she lost 70% of her hair, went down to 90 lbs, could not dress herself, could not see at times, had deep bloodshot eyes, her skin was literally pealing off her face and trunk, was confused, extremely anemic and had severe heart palpitations. She came close to death four times and confused ten doctors in the meantime. It took the life out of her entertainment career and her schooling. It was a life-changing time in her life.
She took Prednisone for about 6.5 months in as low a dose as would help control the symptoms. Ultimately she decided to go off all medicine and take on a completely whole food-no preservative diet in which she is finally regaining her life. She takes no medication at the present time.

This is a video she did while she was still sick but recovering. It plays in Doctor's offices.
