windows xp can detect sata hd, i installed xp onto it without any drivers.

very nice, the electricute myself part made me laugh, I've done that more times then I'd like to have. (pain in the ASS computer internal works!)
Good job overall, though your CD/DVD device didn't look too secure :p lol
SATA (serial ATA) harddrives suck by the way, unless your BIOS lets you fuck with the settings, you have no choice but to install things like windows Vista onto it because XP won't detect the hardware configuration, it's too modern for it.
