3220 feet high Angel Falls Venezuela is a must do for skydivers and base jumpers. The receding cliff wall, and wide cathedral removes the immediate danger of a cliff strike or off heading opening ,but it's the tiny rocky landing area that's the big challenge.

  • His name is Mr. Sargeant he said he used to teach the person that is jumping i dont know if its true or not but thats what he sai

  • @EvilzElmoz

It's very true. Larry Sargeant...the chief pilot, local champion, and my instructor, circa 1974, He was one of the most inspiring people in my life, and he patiently encouraged me and taught me the old school techniques of Parachuting and freefall. I was 17, making my first jumps at Malone NY...and he was "a real man", steering his Papillon parachute downwind into the pea gravel, hitting the dead center...bigger than life and I certainly wanted to be just like him.

  • My English teacher showed me this video today and the guy jumping was one of his students

  • @EvilzElmoz

    who's the teacher?

  • I'm not aware of any brush or tree clearing there. The growth was more bush like around the marked landing areas, which was just a few feet from the deep cut of the water drainage. There was sandy soil too, which is what that probably is.

  • so you were using skydiving equipment? 270 opening no probs. what main and container were you jumping? still had a shot at the reserve by 1500ft?

  • @ieodksnw787 Believe it or not, but base jumpers usually land. And in case you land in a bad spot or simply fall you might hurt your head. With a helmet you might not hurt your head. Simple.

  • @duffmasterj yes he is a great person and one of my favorite teachers

  • @virginaustralia1 looks inadequate - if he's so worried about his precious little head, don't jump in the first place. its like using a band-aide to tend to a shotgun wound

  • why is he wearing a helmet?

  • @tintinbofin Wouldn't that be a good thing?
