Our long time friend, Blaine McLaughlin, passed away on Christmas Day 2009, from complications of Pulmonary Fibrosis. Blaine and Donna have been family to me for many years. Still doesn't seem real that he won't be walking through our door again, scaring my big old Doberdogs with his cowboy hat ...
Donna took this video of him on December 8, since their oldest son wanted video of his Dad, just sitting and playing the guitar, like he remembered from his childhood. I got permission from Donna to post these videos as a tribute to her husband. They had a band years ago called the "Country Blues." I used to love listening to Blaine play "Sleepwalk" on those nights. I was their "unofficial roadie" - used to travel to gigs with them, help set up and tear down, and sit and enjoy the music. Thanks, Music Man, for introducing me to Waylon and Steve, and all of the good times with you and your family. You are sorely missed, good friend.
I got such a feeling of serenity listening to your friend play such a beautiful tune. Thank you for sharing. So good. May your friend serenade the angels for eternity.
