Cocoa Beach Classic Longboard Surfing Renaissance

Around the turn of the century, a group of hot young surfers in Cocoa Beach Florida eschewed the equipment favored by many of their peers and instead chose to ride classic surf boards more like the type their Fathers or elders rode.

I was fortunate to know many of these kids and on one summer day I shared a few waves with them. Me on my balsa board and them on traditional noseriders. I happened to have a Eumig Nautica underwater movie camera with me and shot some footage.
