SD BASS CREW- Point Loma Calico Bass Fishing

Cody Galvan, Cameron Smith, Kody Kessel, and Charlie Saraspe head out early in the morning in search of big calico bass. We head straight to Point Loma kelp Beds and fish it for a couple of hours picking at around 30 -40 calico bass. Nothing to big but a few 3-4lbers caught by Charlie Saraspe using 4in BIg Hammer Swimbaits rigged on a 1/2 ounce Warbait camo colored head smuthered in UNIBUTTER and Kody Kessel got one nice fish around 3 to 4lbs on the tenacious bait dipped in butter. The conditions were great, just a perfect about of current and good water color, but there was just a little to much wind so we decided to head into San Diego Bay. We picked a few spotties unti everything went wrong, my boat broke down. After being towed into the docks we decided to fish for some halibut with some smelt and caught a very big Shovel nose and a small butter fly ray. Fun but not fun day on the water.
