  • If you mean the detector, ebay is full of them.If you mean the mantle, well they're off the market for quite some years now...

  • Hey there Triti, what exactly do you mean by "classified components"?

And how are these components are supposed to be radioactive? Thanks :)

  • bravo panagioti! poly eksipni agora! gamw to manwli ta soyblakia mirizoyn dipla stin miti moy.

  • Dude, where did you get the Russian geiger counter used in this vide?

  • Bought from Ebay, from a guy directly from Russia. If you're interested, it's a great value for money item.

  • FYI, thorium is more toxic than beryllium

  • It's not the asbestos, which is fine as long as you don't inhale the fibers, it's the radioactive thorium, sweet sweet thorium, I wish I had some right now... so tasty.

  • Asbestos... :S

A little bit of radiation won't hurt you, but these lantern mantles are junk. Look at them, they've already come loose! They're dangerous.

    You should throw it away.

  • Quite possibly nuclear warheads or depleted uranium plating. If I were the gvm't I'd want to steal depleted uranium from fighter plane crashes. The Abrams tank has about 3-inch plates of depleted uranium reinforced steel, so that shouldn't be too strange to see.

  • Hello

Try using the mantel first then do your test again..

    Surprise!

Fired mantels are used to train Rad Techs when searching aircraft wreckage for classified components in Fighter Planes..

    Triti

  • I certainly hope that they don't contain beryllium. The alpha radiation from the thorium would elicit neutron emission from the Be.

  • these mantles also contain beryllium which is toxic
