  • It's a shame that you have a great diet to promote instead of doing this bullshit liberal bashing. Hell, why don't you argue for banning high fructose corn syrup? Mexico bans HFCS, message consistent with your movie. If HFCS was banned you'd find no one willing to sell cheap Big Gulps and the price of soda would increase where people would reduce purchases. But we know you're shills for corporations, so its not happening.

  • @robertmike57 No, I'm a shill for freedom. There's a huge difference. I avoid HFCS and I urge people to do likewise. But I stop short of asking the government to prohibit them buying the foods I deem unhealthy because it's really none of my business -- or yours -- what they choose to eat. And if you think it is, just wait until someone decides you shouldn't be allowed to buy butter or eggs or red meat.

  • @robertmike57 That's quite possibly the stupidest argument I've ever heard, and I've heard a lot of them. Try to grasp this, even though at least average intelligence is required: If other people don't provide you with what you want, that doesn't violate your freedom. Government's job is to protect us against those who would harm us AGAINST OUR WILL. If someone spreads hepatitis, he is harming people who don't want to be harmed and are unaware of the danger.

  • @FatHeadMovie My point is there is always some level of government regulation, sorry if that was a concept beyond the simpleton libertarian mind. You go with the slippery slope argument rather than address the merits. I believe that HFCS is heavily contributing to obseity and diabetes, therefore it should be regulated on some level. You're old enough to remember when coke was sold in 6 oz and not 2 liter bottles. Cheap HFCS made that possible.

  • @robertmike57 Yes, simpleton, the "some level of government regulation" is to protect us against harm we don't willingly accept. That's a proper role of government.

Being the simpleton you are, you look at that and think to yourself, "Duh ... well ... uh ... gee, I guess since we have some government regulation already, that means we should ban anything I don't think other people should eat. After all, I know what's best for everyone else, I'm willing to use force to impose my preferences."

  • I just saw Fat head on Netflix.

It is my opinion, that that is a movie that everyone, especially dieters, should watch.

  • @robertmike57 Then don't order a soda einstein. No restaurant is going to make you drink it. How about a diet soda or some iced tea or even water. Jeez...you people want 1000s of pages of government regulations from D.C. just to tell you what you already don't do? Congratulations you're an idiot.

  • Hilarious.

  • @Coogg1376 I agree.

  • I think this is so cute! And hilarious. Responsibility is almost becoming nonexistent in our culture!

  • @Coogg1376 There is some sound logic at work Big Gulps = crack. Well if we prohibit soda, maybe then we can run the industry underground. People will start making it in their basements and selling it on the streets. What's worse it will spread to the schools and these Cola pushers will be selling HFCS to our kids. Get them addicted at a nice young age so that by age 18 they're on the streets doing lord knows what to fill their insatiable appetite for the syrup. People will die for HFCS lmao

  • @FatHeadMovie Good point. The government should have no control over what people want to do as long as it doesn't affect others. Let their be soda! Let their be Big Gulps! Let their be HFCS! Let their be Weed! Let their be Crack! Let their be steroids!

  • @robertmike57

I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but there's a reason that HFCS so much cheaper than cane sugar. And the reason might surprise even you:

Because your beloved federal government wants it that way.

The Federal Government accomplishes this in two major ways; Sugar tariffs, and corn subsidies.

  • Kinda reminded me of Turing's proof of the halting problem.

  • I'm a liberal and I believe we have a right to eat what we want to eat. Banning happy meals and tasty school lunches just seems silly. Taxing bad foods seems pretty silly, especially in bad economic times(discouraging spending is not good in a recession).

However, I think we should cut agricultural subsidies for corn.
