Rettinger's Rants: iOS

Learn more about Full Sail University: http://www.fullsail.edu/technobuffalo

Jon R is back with an all new show where he rants and raves about the latest tech topics. On this week's episode, Jon discusses iOS. Don't get us wrong, iOS is great. It's fluid, functional and all-around fantastic. However, it is painfully stale and boring. iOS hasn't received a major facelift or UI-changing feature injection since it's debut on the original iPhone! Tune in to hear what Jon has to say on Apple's state of the art mobile operating system. http://tchno.be/TWUwlL

I also agree with iOS getting stale. That's why I switched to android. Totally worth it.

I agree, apple is still with the same and the same and the same, , while android lets you have third party apps and launchers which lets you make a phone more yourself without jailbreaking

iOS 7....the same experience you've loved since the very first iPhone...completely unchanged!

I never fiddle with my Nexus. I set it up the way I want, pop a few widgets down so I can have quick access to live information, then I never fuss about it. Android is what you make of it, complex or simple it is up to you.

i do believe that apple needs to take a look at those fake ios 7 concepts (mostly jailbreak tweaks) and make their core apps like voice memos, calculator, and settings look more modern. Just don't make it so where it's not consistent - consistency is apple's greatest advantage.

2:38--there is a better YouTube app in the app store called Jasmine

I like the consistency of the iOS experience. I like the fact that I can pretty much ignore the operating system and just "do" what it is I need to do with the device, rather than spending time playing around with the OS . The apps I have for it work, the OS is uncluttered and I don't have to worry about compatibility across different manufacturers or carriers. When I owned an Android phone, it felt like I spent more time fiddling with the OS than actually "using" the device.
