I used to hold a shoe string in both hands and around the back of my neck until the hands just always stayed up. If you don't keep them up you get a rope burn of sorts. The first time I did it was while running when it was cold and I was wearing a hood with a string tie and I noticed my hands drifting down so I grabbed the string's ends. I did that until it warmed up and then I went to using a shoe string. Then I started doing it while practicing kicks until the hands always stayed up.

I don't use a Boxing Guard I use a JKD lead guard its more effective for me. But for the most part I see what your saying. Besides I usually close the gap and take it to the ground. Kicks are good for keeping an opponent at a distance but 9/10 they manage to get close, then you have to learn how to faint and keeping your guard prevents that, be loose but ready.

That's the only problem with that kick...it's harder to get good power and momentium without dropping the guard...that's why I don't throw them often at all. And to be honest...I don't throw many high kicks often...unless the opportunity presents itself.
Man good instruction but you sound like that captain from Bad Boys...Joey pants

i just rememberd that the opponent could know what kick I am trying to do when I drop my left hand or right etc. I'm starting to train at home soon and thanks for the vids I will be watching all of them and hope to learn more from you.

Hands do telgraph the kicks very often. Now you know how to train to avoid that.

Great video, man. I'm the same way. I never telegraph my kicks by dropping my guard.
