It looks like the market leader VMware is in for some serious competition in the virtualization market. We will soon be testing Hyper-V virtualization software when we build our Windows 2008 Server box. Are you going to try it? Distributed by Tubemogul.

  • Well, with the latest Intel processors, the technology is there to allow complete access to hardware, including GPUs, at almost native speed. I'm not sure Hypet-V in its current form supports access to GPUs, though.

  • When Hyper-V has acces directly to hardware also means for example the graphics card?

  • no prob :) btw - from that I've seen, all AMD dual cores are able to run Hyper-V - including the X2's.

I'm running Hyper-V under Windows Server 2008 (x64) on my Dell Studio 17 (intel T5750). It's pretty slick.
