Dog Trick - Dog Has Fun

Rounder, a Rhodesian Ridgeback rescue, has fun playing clicker games (watch his tail). He makes me smile with his enthusiam for the games. I mix in behaviors like "sit", "down", "go to your mat" and "stay" when he is excited. Then, he learns to respond to those cues regardless of his emotional state. His enthusiam and creativity make me smile. I've learned so much from this dog who is shy by nature and would not offer any behaviors when we first started training. My training skills are not perfect here, but we are both having fun. :-)

I´ve never seen a Ridgeback like Rounder. It´s all about communication and interaction. I would like to show it to everyone, who tells you, that with a Ridgeback, you can´t work/play/interact like this and therefore is not even trying it.

Thanks for the kind words.  Rounder's enthusiasm is especially encouraging because he is shy by nature. When we first started training, he never offered any behaviors. I thought he wasn't fun to train. Turns out - it wasn't him, it was me. He taught me how to train/interact with him. Smart boy!
