As Faith Ambassador of the Ontario Student Trustees Association, I find it captivating in learning of the different faiths as well as my faith. Lessons learned from scripture of yore can be applied to our modern age, allowing some to live with content without a care for keeping to date with the newest gadgets and trends. Furthermore, the history of religion and its great contributions to society as well as the downfalls of a system of belief are topics which I enjoy debating. I am fascinated by the study of the pros and cons of religion. As a practicing Catholic and ardent Papist I am compelled to keep strong in the faith but I also spend time in hearing and contemplating on the opinions of non Catholic theists and atheists alike. Coming from a political family in the Philippines, I revel in politics and the works and deeds done by public servants. Student government allows me to sharpen my administrative and networking skills and usually keeps me active around the clock. These two aspects of my school life allow me to work with students, be it in the chapel or in the conference room. Both have potential in compelling individuals but the challenge of assuming an office in school government or executing acts of faith in public is something which many students are weary of. Today I still work towards involving my fellow classmates with the much appreciated help of staff and clergy. Thankfully, everything is paying off! ^_^
