This is so heartwarming and smart. What a great idea! I worked as a support teacher for 5 yrs. at an ele. sch. and I can see how all of my Autistic kids would have responded to the sound and feel of the tap shoes. Show them the Happy Feet movie first and give them the shoes and the room....

I know I have kind of spammed a bit but he is doing a very good job. He doesn't move like a normal autistic kid. At least from what I have seen. Is he high functioning? If you would like not to answer just say so. I understand. And if I insult you in any way I do not intend to do so. I am just kind of curious. I am a young mind trying to learn. Thanks. :)

@6958921 Seriously dude what the hell. First off he probably dances better than you do. He actually did a pretty good job. Second he is what?.. Probably like 6-9 years old there? I mean come on man. I know its okay to make comments like that to grown people who are phyisically and mentally "Normal" But seriously lay off. The kid's a kid and he doesn't deserve crap like that.

@queenaugust He can't follow instructions and has comprehension issues at this point, so don't know where that would work. That and I'd have to convince my hubby. He wasn't keen on the idea for some reason....

@LaRaNaThA my son taught himself by watching a tutorial on the happy feet dvd in the bonus features, repetitive motions is something some autisic kids pick up easily, or just do on their own, either way, I'm sure as he gets older he'll pick up following directions better, & maybe you're hubby will be more agreeable then?
