I have a 2010 Golf TDI, 21,000 miles. Same thing happened to me on exact same date in Providence, RI. Had my car towed to VW dealer. They said there was frozen water in the intercooler - water had probably melted by the time the car got there, as they said they drained water from the intercooler. Kit on back order from VW to fix the problem. Meanwhile, dealer said if this happens again I can start it with continous cranking while flooring it. Sounds crazy. Very disappointing.

What was the actual problem on this after bringing it to the dealer?

Thanks for posting... looks like your engine is hydrolocked pretty tight. I'm surprised that you couldn't get it to go after multiple attempts.
