Hello from Dr Andrew Thorpe at the 2011 FACD Meeting, Florida

Part of the mini-journal of interesting meetings attended by Dr Thorpe in order to keep up to date with whats happening around the world in Dentistry.

Dr Thorpe attended the Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry meeting, September 2011, in Orlando Florida, USA. The event is known as one of the better cosmetic dentistry meetings around. The 2011 speakers included Dr David Hornbrook, and Dr Paul Homoly.

The meeting has a heavy focus on modern cosmetic techniques and materials; most of Dr Hornbrook's lecture was about the application of materials and materials to avoid.

Proberbly the most interesting aspect of the meeting was the discussion on a material called "Emax ZirPress", which looks a promising material for very strong, life-like back tooth caps. Dr Thorpe is investigating if there is sufficient research yet to implement this material.
