After some discussion on the forums and with other developers, I have been working on testing alternatives to the Daz Generation 4 characters. This is Near_Me, decimated, texture atlased, and animated in DS3A and exported as an FBX for Unity.

This being a quick test, I didn't consolidate materials within Ultimate Unwrap, and I didn't fiddle with any texture settings (for example the eyes) within Unity. You can verify see how fast I did this test by seeing the poke-through on the shorts as well as the fact that I apparently didn't fully attach her jacket : sigh :

Sadie from 3D Universe worked like a charm and now NearMe -- given the time, I'll keep testing figures :D This video, btw, was recorded live from within the Unity editor.

Been a while since I used this figure, she's a cutie.

  • wtf dance?

  • @superdra79 Sure is --well to be honest, its some little sample clip from a dance animation package to be specific. It worked as a quick and dirty animation test that would keep the figure in one place and was easily loopable w/o any extra work on my part -- i.e. made for good test material.
