The best plane won. It carries more fuel, freight and people further. Boeing can't argue about the loss of US jobs. If they are so bothered about it, why do they build so much of the 787 abroad?

On the subject of US jobs, not only is the KC 45 assembled in the US but all future A330 freighters will be too. If 500 freighters are ordered that's 500 MORE planes assembled in the US compared to if Boeing won. The outcome of this decision is, for the US, nowhere near as bad as some people think.

@tjp353 Listen my little Limey Airfags lost the contract because WTO said EADS AKA Airbus had illegal subsidies to the tune of 20 billion dollars. BTW way Boeing invented Mid-Air Refueling + the A330 is a piece of shit with 2 wings that has had more than its fair share of crashes. Also USA has never let a foreign company build its military aircraft. I am sure that if USA put a bid on Limey-Tanker U would reject it. @LottoWinner999 boeing has only one engine supplier for the 737, so by your logic thats a crap plane. Once again, the 787 does not have over 1000 orders, it has around 850. The new tanker doesnt have the new engines either, it has the old 767 engines (if slightly updated) and the old 767 wing (with the 400's flaps), with added wing-lets.

@tjp353 GE said no to A350 cuz Boeing isCo-Partner with General Electric fuel efficient engines. Airbus really dug a grave for itself in the manner it conducts business + only 1 engine supplier is poor planning. Plus riding rough-shrod + threatning to put Boeing out business. As I said B4 USA is not am employment agency for Airfags. The new Boeing Tanker with new wing + GE Series of fuel efficient engine with less carbon emission is Boeings calling card + there R + 1000 order for B787'S!

Why do the Americans immediately start complaining about such a small matter? Germans don't mind having American-built C-5s in their fleet and even Air France has 60 Boeing 777s, but I haven't seen a single French person complain about this. It's just an order for an aircraft you know.

It was a fair and open competition to win the bid, and Northrop-Grumman won. They are the prime contractor for this, and it will give jobs to many, many Americans.
