I never saw a white coconut before. Earlier I watched a video with a chef whacking a coconut [not too hard but many times rotating it in one hand] like we can get in our stores [sometimes], and it finally broke open. Not only that, but the coconut had separated from that hard inner brown coating which amazed me. The flesh was more firm than the softer Thai one. I wondered what in the heck you were going to whack that pile of white stuff for.

also how do you know if you have a Thai coconut? I found some at an Indian Gorcery store that look like these, trying to get into them right now. (don't have a Meat Cleaver) But I want my coconut to be soft like yours is, but if it isn't with the hard coconut blend into a cream?
