Hi guys! Coming to you from our headquarters, I'm Dana Ward for ClevverTV. Today we're delving deep into the true meaning behind one of Taylor Swift's new songs off her upcoming Speak Now album. It's called Dear John and it's reportedly all about her short and previously denied romance with John Mayer. Remember that they collaborated for the song Half of My Heart from May'ers album. Well, now even Taylor admits to Yahoo that her songs are very clear and that "every single song is like a roadmap to what that relationship stood for, with little markers that maybe everyone won't know, but there are things that were little nuances of the relationship, little hints." So apparently, the lyrics say it all - even more than the title of 'Dear John' - with words like 'it was wrong, don't you think nineteen's too young, to be played, by your dark twisted games, when i loved you so' or what about 'you'll add my name to your long list of traitors who don't understand, and I'll look back in regret I ignored what they said, run as fast as your can.' That one probably refers to all of the girlfriends that Mayer the sometimes called 'Player' was linked to in recent years. So do you agree with the public that Dear John is indeed about John Mayer?? @mooonsnzthy Wouldn't you disapprove if a thirty-something man was dating a barely legal teenager? Mayer the Player has had many girlfriends, which were said to have warned Taylor while they were dating (Dear John)- or the traitors who don't understand. We're told in Ours of the man's ghosts with lip-gloss smiles or exes. Also, the man is said to have tattoos and a gap between his teeth. Everyone knows Mayer has tattoos, but is also believed to have a gap between two teeth. I hope this helped.

@mooonsnzthy If you examine the lyrics of the song (Taylor's website has just been updated so you can look at the lyrics) they describe a judged relationship that is disapproved of by everyone. Now, when Taylor Swift was 19 she collaborated with then 32 John Mayer for Half of My Heart. (Look at the next post for the rest of my explanation).
