"Every truth passes through three stages before it is recognized. In the first it is ridiculed, in the second it is opposed, in the third it is regarded as self-evident" - Schopenhauer

This mere 10-minute video attempts to outline Schopenhauer's philosophy, it does not attempt to prove it. I had to omit many aspects in order to meet the 10-minute limit.

(Ask me for the transcript, too long to include here, kindly created by 1Void0Infinity1.)

  • Absolutely FANTASTIC video. A great summary of Kant's Transcendental Idealism and a summary of Schopenhauer too.

Ive never read him, but I have read Nietzsche and Kant and its really interesting to see he appears to be a halfway point between the two.

  • @SecularNumanist

Thanks - he really is the middle man!

  • This Video is just amazing. Music, graphics, pronunciation... It's just EPIC! I will recommend this Video to my subscribers. If you could send me the manuscript, I will make a translation into German. Cause this is maybe the best summary on Schopenhauer I've ever seen.

  • @ReconquistaGermany

    Thank you - much appreciated.

  • Your first few videos were exhilerating to watch but not that informative. I must congratulate you on combining your conventional style with a teacher's mien. It is both the information in the video and the dark music and images that make it so entertaining.

    Thank you.

  • Nice voice....

  • @threeofwands

Unfortunately pronouncing it that way sounds a little too similar to a certain english word.

  • I'm fairly certain that in German Kant is pronounced "K-aunt", not "K-ant".

Since I enjoy Inmendham's vids I tried to watch your meta-ethics vid in order to leave a few comments, but could not get through the blackboard screeching audio loop.

"The notion of consciousness without a brain is as non-sensical as the notion of digestion without a stomach". Got to love Schopenhauer.

  • @ikorodu0807 You name sounds like a place in Lagos. Is this a coincidence or that is what you meant.

  • @ikorodu0807

Have you found the Schopenhauer manuscript you are looking for. If not, send me a private message and I can send you the pdf. You will enjoy the collection of his works especially if you are realist.

  • Great Vid. Strong emphasis on Solipsism though, Schopenhauer never doubted the reality of others' 'Will' like a Solipsist would doubt the existance of other's Minds.

  • Schopenhauer inspire me.

  • I'm another person who enjoyed the video, and would like to know where to find the manuscript?

  • I bet Schopenhauer would have commented on the noise... But I still like your vide, thanks :)

  • ...ich dachte zwar Darth Vader käm` gleich um die Ecke (hehe), aber es ist gut.
