Oh my gosh, Once again, you've given me a HUGE tip PLUS a time saver, as I am BURIED in folders in MSNt, although I am trying to switch over to Gmail gradually. I've been so busy I never took time to learn more on how to work with Gmail.. I can forward my MSN emails to my Gmail accounts, and then my MSN account will by way nicer to work in. I may eventually do some work out of one gmail account for business purposes, but now my MSN account is going to be SO NICE to work in.

Sorry, you're incorrect, there are limitations as to how much email information can be held, whether that's gmail, yahoo, godaddy, even Outlook.

Excellent system...I was just cleaning my email the other day as if it was a precious baseball card collection or the deed to my home. I'll try this out, but probably keep a few files.
Thanks

Gmail isn't that perfect when you mark something as 'not spam'. I have had to get messages from the same people/newsletters over and over again each week out of my spam folder and I do mark them as not spam.
Good tips but my folders are highly organized so I will continue to use them. I don't just use a first name or a last name but the whole name, if it is a newsletter from a company I use the company name in full and so on.

Great video! Would you reccomend using gmail for your emails rather than anything else? I think that search tool you showed us looks extremely useful!

yes - gmail is awesome. Just forward all of your current email accounts there and start using it. No other email program compares...and it's free!

I hear ya Heidi, but if I did that I'd need 2,000 folders I think...I started using my system when my folder count got ridiculous and I was forced to stop using them. It's less work now so I thought I'd share the tip. Different strategies work for different people though I'm sure. I know I spend a lot less time on email now that I've let the search feature do the work of finding old messages for me.
