I always thought that St Nicholas (aka Santa) was the Christianization of the North European "Allfather", Woden/Odin in his guise as gift-giver. In England, many churches dedicated to St Nicholas are built on the site of old pagan holy sites dedicated to Woden.

Interesting how people are too blinded to see the pagan origins of their gods! Wake up people and stop dreaming! I know its cool to think Jesus was born on 12/25 but so was Ray, Krishna, and many others...Wake up; Jesus was real but he ain't the white guy on the cross!
