My point is that infidelity is never sexy or acceptable whether it's a man cheating on a woman or a woman cheating on a man. But more often than not, popular fiction promotes the idea that if a man cheats he's a pig and the audience sympathizes with the woman, but if a woman cheats, she's having a "romantic adventure" and the man either need never know about her transgression, or he must forgive her and be understanding as long as she apologizes. The film 'Rumor Has It' was an example.

You've given the "if it were a man" scenario about a half a dozen times in your comments. I can think of a hundred counterexamples, including Match Point (which I mentioned previously for a different argument). In this film, the protagonist has an affair with his wife, which is the whole plot of the movie (similar to Vicky's story in this one) He DOES leave her in the dark and never gets caught. As for your recent comment, there is a video titled "Sexiest scene ever" featuring the MAN's affair.

Yeah, because infidelity is just so sexy as long as woman is doing it. If a man is doing it on the other hand.....

Yet, if it were a man who cheated on his wife, and the story was told from his perspective, would the audience have as much sympathy? And at the end of the film, Vicky tries to stay with her husband, but keeps him totally in the dark about her infidelity? As if having the poor guy believe that his wife was totally faithful to him was a better option? Like I said, if the film had a man cheating on his wife, he'd probably end up getting dumped, regardless if was told from his perspective.

It's "romanticized" because the story is told from Vicky's perspective. In Woody Allen's film Match Point, for example, the protagonist blows the brains out of an elderly woman and later Scarlett Johannson. We sympathize with the murderer as the police interrogate him because the audience naturally sticks with the most familiar character. Yet, we know what he did was a horrible crime. Cinema is full of hypocrisy; a story cannot be entertaining with only flawless, culturally-obedient characters.

If this is the life experienced by the U.S. I'd rather die than to live the life of not only sex and pleasure of God did not create man for tampering and play, but created the goal is to worship Him alone for a partner to him and obey him

We don't worship Vicky. She's a hypocrite. The point is that she still gets away with her infidelity scott-free and it's called a romantic comedy, whereas a man in a similar situation would be vilified and his wife would be cast as a victim. Women should be treated no differently than men when they cheat. It should never be romanticized.

That's why it's a MOVIE. Why the hell do we have to worship Vicky?
