Canon has been hard at work enhancing the wildly popular PowerShot SX210 IS. Meet the company's first ever GPS-enabled camera, the Canon PowerShot SX230 HS. HS you say? That's right, Canon stuffed one of their signature HS (High Sensitivity) CMOS sensors in the new SX230 HS for improved low light performance. The company also equipped the SX230 HS with the ability to record 1080p HD video, boosted the LCD pixel count, added a few image effects, and jacked the price up by 50 bucks. Good review. But misses a few things. Like the battery performance even without the gps. I own this camera - a few shots and zooms - you would last about a 80 photos and about 10 short videos. The deadly orange cell indicator pops up. Talking of popup, there is no way to stop the flash from popping up. I use my finger!

+ side - gives excellent pic quality, 14xzoom and almost does what a DSLR & a video camera does - in a pocketable size. Summary - good buy - but buy 2 extra batteries too.

Hello there, do you know "photo SFX art" (google it)? There you can watch a useful free video explaining the way to shoot outstanding pictures. This made it easier for Matt to make pictures which have that wow-effect after you take a look at them. I hope it helps you too...

Thanks...your review was very very helpful to me. i'm a beginner in camera technology but I think this is the one for me based on your review and how you explained it, love the features on this cam! thanks for expalining it......It was plain and you did not use all the techie verbage which means absolutely NAAADAAAA to me!!
