Sarnia Transit 044 is a 1990 Orion I, one of 4 purchased in 2004 from Bakersfield, CA. This unit is a 35ft and used quite heavy on the higher ridership route.
Powertrain: DDC 6V92TA with ZF HP590, either 4 or 5 speed.
Usually 5-speed automatics are found behind articulated buses. In recent years 5-speed ZFs could be had in 40' long buses, with 6-speeds being used in the artics. Apparently a lot of people seem to forget about the torque converter activity.
This sounds pretty nice... still IMO not as nice as SEPTA's AN440's... but still love that ZF working in that bus.

Nice. I see they swapped out the Drab grey cloth seating those buses had when they came from Bakersfield. Looks much better now.
