Probably, yes.. :)

I think the motors/electronics consume more energy compared to production from the solar cell:)

The most expensive parts are the solar panel and the stepper motors. They cost about $200. You will need a microcontroller, a motor driver circuit, and a signal conditioning circuit of the sensors. I used LDRs for the sensors. They are not really accurate and you might want to use photo diodes instead for better accuracy.

dude what was the overall cost for making this apparatus
and just tell me what all other appararus was required

Sorry for the late response. I used 5-phase stepper motors for this project, which actually make things much more difficult. I suggest you using bipolar or unipolar stepper motors if you want to make a solar tracker similar to mine. The problem is, using motors as the actuators in a medium size solar tracker just like mine poses some problem. You need a mechanism to hold the solar panel so it doesn't fall down when the motors are no longer supplied with power.

... the motors, ADC circuits, and the microcontroller..
For the microcontroller, I used assembly language.. The logic of the program is a bit confusing because I used a multiphase (pentagon shape) stepper motor which has 5 input cables (unlike other stepper motors such as bipolar and unipolar stepper motors). If you want some simpler logic, try not using mutiphase stepper motor..
Maybe you can tell me a bit what is your current plan with your project?
