@129archangel I'm happy that the church is still alive in russia and eastern europe... but that wasn't my point. No credit goes to the church but to God.

@MrHappiness777 We are all sinners. Christ is humble. A Christian should be humble too. I think God might forgive the sin of proclaiming pride in this case. The Orthodox Christian Church was almost destroyed by atheist communists -- yet it survived and now has come back to life after more than 70 years of persecution, tortures and murders.

"Let God arise. Let His enemies be scattered."

And FYI -- if you understood the words in the service, you would not be asking the questions you have.

@129archangel Ok... sure they arent hiding anymore... thats good, but irrelevant to the conversation. What about this has glorified Jesus? People on here have commented "proud to be orthodox"... God doesnt care if you are orthodox... its about your relationship with God, not about your church.

A bishop is being installed. This is like how in Acts we read of how Apostle's successors were chosen. No. It is not in a dark house somewhere...but Christians in this part of the world don't need to hide from authorities who seek to kill them anymore today. This event was impossible there 22 yrs ago.

@129archangel the Bible says to be like christ... why are we dressing up and gathering like that, Jesus never taught to do that... does it make it bad, not necessarily.. but if we are putting faith in a human practice over the words of christ then it has become idol worship.

@129archangel There are many problems.Where does the Bible say that it is necessary to dress up and do rituals? The Bible warns not to worship with your mouths but not with your full heart and soul. This video demonstrates ritualism, and not humbly being the meek that Jesus talks about. People are defensive because they put faith in an institution, and not in the living God, the Bible doesn't say that he exists in churches.  The church is to adapt, not to never change, the truth though shouldnt
