questions and answers with Prof. Arya B. Bhardwaj
Ayurveda doctor and founder of Gandhi In Action International
(recorded in Valsesia in 1984)
"what do you think of the 'western way' of giving birth in hospitals?"
"do Indian women breast-feed their children or they give powder milk by the bottle?"
Arya is my Indian brother. I met him in 1982 in India. He was a 'Servas' open door and I made my base in his home for 6 months. He introduced me to Vinoba Bhave, the spiritual heir of Mahatma Gandhi, and to the network of gandhian constructive workers active in the rural villages. He had never gone out of India and I invited him to travel through the western world as i felt there was a need to know more about Non-violence and Ayurveda. Arya was an Ayurveda doctor, but was fully dedicated to training gandhian social workers. Later he founded Gandhi In Action International and CSRAM (Center for Study and Research on Alternative Medicine).
He came first time to Italy in 1984 and we recorded these short interviews to be used in a local TV programme I was conducting at that time.Since then, Prof. Arya Bushan Bhardwaj has travelled in the world many times , invited by groups, associations and universities, especially in Europe and USA, for more than 500 conferences, seminars, courses and classes in Ayurveda and Non-Violence and wrote many books.
