This is my experience at a local Starbucks and a discussion on the impact this has on their dedication to the Coffee Bean.

  • As a Starbucks barista, I definately feel the downward slope. Each day it feels like we're inching closer to a McDonald's and farther from a coffee shop. The lack of stickers though is most likely due to a change in packaging though. Even at my store we can't order them. I can't say I agree with the change though. The new design looks far to similar to Seattles Best. But, what can we do?

  • @wassermancoral if you feel like you don't like the vision anymore you could seek out places that are dedicated to the bean. Are there any small shops in your area that fit the bill?

  • As far as dedication to the bean goes- I was a fan of the Colombia starbucks had to offer. They completely discontinued it to source VIA. Starbucks has also gone from an entire wall of different coffees to maybe 10. It makes me sad that their Kenya is their only African coffee. (Though they do have others for their Starbucks Reserves)

  • @chacodude38 ya that speaks volumes in and of itself.

  • I have a major issue with where Starbucks is heading. When reading the book "Pour You Heart Into It" Starbucks goal was to make high quality dark roasted coffee & now they have Blonde which is an appeal to the masses blend.

They also said they'd never make flavored or instant coffee but that is again no longer the case. The commitment to excellence is on a downward slope in an attempt to reach more people but theyre losing the true coffee lovers like you & I who love the little intricacies.

  • @PlacingNoLimits great formulation of thoughts hear. I know a bunch of people would agree with this.

  • @CoffeeCupNews Unfortunately no. I think the nearest local roaster is over an hour away in another city. I live in a small, semi-rural area, where we're lucky to even have a Starbucks. The only other coffee joint we have is called the Italian Coffee Company...and they're even worse...

  • @JoesCoffee308 thank you.

  • Good vid man ^^

  • @kara86ster very true, great points
