Secret Chapter 30 Part 1/3

[AN. All I can say is: Im SO SORRY!!!!! I have been a very horrible writer. Go ahead and yell and throw things, I deserve it. I am ashamed of myself. But enough of this self pity because you want to read this chapter. So go ahead.]

Recap: Read Chapter 29 to refresh your memory, its been a very long time.

Chapter 30 Part 1

*Normal POV*

*Rachel, Denise, & Frankie are sitting in the VIP section at the concert. Just before the music began, Denise turned to Rachel holding a box.*

Denise: Oh, honey, I almost forgot. Nick wanted you to have this. *hands Rachel the box*
Rachel: What is it?
Denise:*laughs* Well youll have to open it.

*Rachel opens the box and sees a silver dogtag. On the front it is engraved with, Friends through everything and on the back it says, til the end, all in Nicks handwriting and his signature on the back as well. Rachel just stares at it, speechless.*

Rachel: Its beautiful. Why? How?
Denise:*smiles* He said that you were a true & amazing friend today even though you were going through a rough time. As for the how, he called and made arrangements while we were on the plane. While you were unpacking, Nick went to the jeweler and wrote out what he wanted engraved on it. They engraved it exactly as he wrote it, handwriting and all. Paul picked it up for him during sound check.
Rachel: Oh My God! That is so sweet! *she puts it on* I love it!
Denise: Make sure to tell him that after the show.

*Rachel nods & the music starts. A huge grin breaks out on her face as she hears the intro to Thats Just The Way We Roll. She considers it her own personal anthem because she is crazy and loud. Rachel is enjoying the concert jumping around, singing, and dancing around with Frankie. Every once and a while she catches one of the guys eyes and smiles at them, they return it. Nick walks behind the piano and everything gets quiet. He starts to play the intro for A Little Bit Longer and begins his speech.*

Nick: Today was not a good day for me. My blood sugar has been up & down all day. *the crowd awwws & Nick smiles at them* But I had a really good friend to lean on. *he glances at Rachel & smiles* What makes her an even better friend, was that today was a bad day for her too, but she was still worried about me; *teasing tone* constantly asking me if I was okay & reminding me to check my blood sugar. But seriously I would like to dedicate this song to my amazing friend tonight. I just wanted to say: Thank You. *girls start cheering*

*As soon as he said that last bit, the tears started to roll down Rachels face. He sang the song. Rachel was practically bawling her eyes out while he continued to sing. He looked at her at one point and she gave him a watery smile while clutching her new necklace. Toward the end of the song Denise handed Rachel a tissue. She thanked her, then Frankie gave her a hug.*

Frankie: Dont be sad, Rachel!
Rachel:*laughs & hugs him back* Im not sad. Im happy.
Frankie: But you were crying.
Rachel: Its kind of hard to explain, but I promise you that I am happy. *smiles*
Frankie:*grins* Good.

*They enjoy the rest of the concert and when the boys start to play their last song, Rachel, Denise, & Frankie go backstage to wait for them to be done. Rachel is waiting impatiently by the stage doors, when Kevin & Joe walk out she high fives them and congratulates them. When she sees Nick, see runs to him & crushes him in a huge hug.*

Rachel: OH MY GOD NICK!! That was the sweetest thing ever!!!!
Nick:*hugs her back, smiling* Im glad youre happy.

*They release from their hug and Nick puts an arm around her shoulders, Rachels arm around his stomach, as they walk to the dressing rooms.*[AN. In a friendly way, they arent going to be more than friends so dont worry.]

Nick: So did my mom give you your present?
Rachel: Yes!!!! *she side hugs him* I love it Nick. Its so beautiful.
Nick: Glad you like it. That is part 1 of your Christmas gift.
Rachel:*stops walking* What? No Nick, this necklace is more than enough. Its so beautiful & meaningful. And it must have cost a lot to get it ready in 1 day. I couldnt accept anything more from you.
Nick: Well thats for me to decide. *smiles & walks in to the dressing room*
