Hey. Your welcome. No you dont with the odd loop etc. but in time ;-) you will benefit from the tighter head damping as you try more aggressive flying. Head damping is a double edged sword really, in some respects it can help the model fly better and cope with changing wind conditions, but at the same time it also sharpens up the control response which can then lead to over controlling. In time you may feel the need to try with the head a little tighter. Ian

thanks ian i don't really need them if i'm just doing sports flying, i'm no way as good as you flying but i can do basics like loops, steady hovers etc... Thanks

Hello matey. Basically the harder head dampers make the model much more responsive & twitchy. With softer dampers, small cyclic inputs are not really seen on the model as the softer rubber damper takes a little of the movement. Add in harder ones and you make the head a little less stable, more twitchy and in turn speed up cyclic response. Handy when your confident. Ian

hi, its me again, just wondering what do harder head dampers do to improve flight perfomance? thanks.

Hello Matey. Thanks again for the compliemts on the flying, much appreciated. Again it all comes down to practice, in recent months I have managed to get out on the weekends more and so my flying has got more aggressive & thrilling. Keep at it, use the sim if you have one to train your mind what to do with the sticks and then once the model is setup things will come easier. I will keep the videos coming ;-) Chat soon. Ian

sweet flying yet again mate nice one,you amaze me on how easy you make it look and we all know how dard it realy is,keep up the good work and please keep the vids coming.
Hi Ian, i commented on your video in the sports hall some months back and you advised me to get the GL450 over the Blade 400, glad i did as this heli is awesome! See my vids, search nikbluesbeer on Youtube. I've still not bucked up the courage to try inverted and 3D yet as i dont know how to deal with the result of me throwing the idle up switch. Bit more practise is needed but im getting there! Fab set of vids tho matey, keep up the great work! Nik

Hi Nik. Ah cool, you did go for the little GL in the end. You done the right theing, the Blade is ok & is made better by the DX6i but isn't half the model the Gl is. I'm going to go have a look at your videos in a minute.
LOL, just flick that switch and go for it ;-) I dont think you'll have any problems if you can fly inverted already, a simulator will give you some mroe confidence if you dont already have one. Thanks for the compliment on the videos, keep me informed of how you get on. Ian

You have a PC already and so I would suggest a decent flight simulator, Phoenix & Reflex I have both seen & had a go on & both work well. A lot of the decision will depend on what transmitter you have though, if it's the stock GL supplied one then you may have to find out what ones work with it.
Failing that a flight school perhaps, I run a small one myself for this very reason to help people like yourself get confident before they try things solo. Maybe there is one near to you. Ian
