I am an Australian of Turkish origin. It's a double tragedy for me every anzac day. Not because I'm a Turk or an Australian, because I'm a human being with feelings. The only positive thing to come out of this war was respect and humility. We could have had them without the war and sensless killings. Please respect humanity and peace...

Tomaso Albinoni - Adagio in G Minor

@chasersbf also u would be killed for being a traitor to your country so u had no choice
-
@19ruotsi91 because you were shot if you didn't-you were ordered too and disobeying an order is an offence punishable by death...

@19ruotsi91 back then it was about serving the empire. one of the dirtiest wars in Australian history and the end of any dutiful respect for the "mother country"

@19ruotsi91 If you didn't go over the top, you were disobeying an order which meant you were betraying your officers, your friends and your country. You would of been shot by your own people for being a traitor. It was treated the same as running away from the enemy when you've been ordered to attack.

"I can't ask the men to do something I wouldn't do myself". An excellent example of an officer. We can learn a lot from Major Barton.

@gutts077 English must be your 3rd language. You troll!
Wow, not being disrespectful to the ones who did go over the top. But why would you go at all? Totally retarded.

@19ruotsi91 You couldn't not go. That means leaving your mates to die. You can't let your mates down.
