It's been a while, but this player is back in action with all new focus servo drivers and motor loader IC (because it was going slow). vintage-audio-technique is the man on eBay who made those parts, check him out!

I like the music it sounds like it's from the fantasy year 1667 or so when they had the Sega Genesis organ in church...the High Fantasy age had some good music...

Hrm I always thought the CDP-101 loaded the CD in the front vertically but non the less awesome to see the first consumer CD player ever in action! Thing must have cost a shit load when it first came out!

well... the music is highly irritating.. but it's cool to see how slow and gentle the clamp arm raises and lowers.. everything now just slams down on discs..
