actually the landing was fine but the approach was very very bad even on video I could see you wouldnt have made the runway in the event of a loss of power this is the real world kids people die when stuff like this happens keep your patterns tight NO MILE LONG +++ finals you dont drive a small airplane in like that make your turn from down wind base final as if you didnt have that engine AND LEARN how to SLIP it in

@jimbobuddy it's a very cool aircraft. cheap to rent and its pretty quick for its size. if you can, i'd suggest going up in one

I would agree with you. however, in a diamond you usually chop power well before the runway. that plane has a great gliding range, so if you hear the stall warning going off on short final, its very common. i would also agree that you'd need a touch of power in on gusty days. thanks for the comment

dont want to make enemies just remember the power doesnt control your speed --- your pitch does and yes it was a nice touch down we could chat more but hey its all good just be safe and dont get caught low and slow on final it will kill ya it kills lots of people every year

so u want to be a flight intructor ayy well than you have to learn that when someone tells ya to keep the airspeed up a little on final ya dont answer with well i usually chop power well before the runway why? c'mon flight instructor thats right pitch is airspeed power is altitude we all learn the on one of the first lessons of pvt power does not control airspeed when your coming in to land i

@sprcub two things bud. First being that I'm not the one who landed, nor do I want to be an instructor. Second, on a diamond aircraft it is standard to reduce power before the runway to idle to keep floating in ground effect halfway down the runway. With the current WX conditions, the landing was very good. Good touchdown, good airspeed, stable approach, touchdown in the TDZ and on centerline. All-in-all a very good landing.
