2nd video in my attempts to design and build my own LED strobe light, lightbar. I've now built my first array of 44 14,000 mcd 5mm clear white LED's. I first drilled the necessary holes in a mirror plexiglass surface, placed the LED's through them and soldered in a circuit with the appropriate resistors on a protoboard. Filmed with my FlipUltra, it doesn't justify the real brightness of this array, but I've already decided on a brighter design. It'll be a couple of weeks before I post my next video so stay tuned.

  • nice, what beam angle are those LEDs? I probably spent about the same on LEDs for my strobe but instead got two K2 Luxeon stars, less soldering for but required more work on heat dispersion, i had to use an CPU heatsink to keep them cool...

  • cool man! 5 stars

  • ha! you jacked the switch from the control board. great project man! 5*
