Go to a good boot store as opposed to a western wear store. Let them know you are looking for riding boots, and let them know that western boots are new to you.

There are many many differences in fit, and form should follow function.

  • anyone know of a good western riding boot? i like th ones with the rounded toe sorta style....i started reinning this year but only hav my old English boats?...ive seen alot that i like but just not sure of brand, and there seems to be alot that look like a western riding boat but are just work boat and to wide...any brands suggestions would be amazing

  • You should all go to a clinic. Just watching is a great learning experience.

  • If you mean it doesn't help cause the horse is already trained or because he doesn't explain some terms, I can see that. But for me, it's great because I know the basics of what he wants and how to get it (like 'round' and 'power from behind' and 'traveling in front') so this is really helpful for me for working the green horse I will be riding as I have never done the stops before. I love this little bit of a lot of help. He makes a few great basic points in just 3 minutes!
