Me playing Exorcist for the Commodore 16 (plus/4).

This game was released in 1984 by Mr. Micro Ltd, programmed by Greg Duddle.

  • I had forgotten about this game and its music, what a flashback

  • @SubtleSatire Look for Vice emulator!

  • Didn't the Plus 4 come with office tools in its ROM?

The trouble with the Plus 4, C16 and even the C128 was that they just weren't good enough to persuade the computing public that they were substantially better or more convenient than the C64. All machines flopped in comparison.

The Amiga was the quantum leap, expensive but what punters expected from the new breeds.

  • My first computer was a plus 4 loved it

  • had this . loved my old plus 4 . all my mates had c64,s . but i loved my plus 4 .

  • @SubtleSatire so did ours! 10 games with white cassette covers. loved it! fire ant, treasure island, exorsist and icicle world were my faves! :-)

  • if anyone is interested i have some old c 16 stuff in my loft some old games and cassette player!i have no idea if they work as i no longer have the console!

  • nice tune. Does the c16 do anything distinct as a computer graphically or audio wise to make it different from other home computers ? This could be any number of computers doing this.

  • Namco must have been feeling generous not to sue ... Why, I wonder, did every Pacman clone for the C16 have the appalling habit of resetting the levels after death? And on the whole, I think I preferred power pellets to those lightning bolts. However, I did like the surreal level designs (does any monastery actually have walls made out of skulls or eyes?) and the exploration aspect of the game that actually led to a proper ending.

  • Another Plus/4 gem... thank you for sharing us... hours spent playing it...
