do the police chase you for very long in this game? im trying to decide on this or carjack. any suggestions?

How aggressive the police are and how long they chase you partly depends on how much you fight back, and partly on the difficulty level. They get harder to evade in the later levels in story mode, or you can chose how tough they are in rampage mode.
