  • I have the album. I bought it in 1975. When I was a young girl of 24. I proceeded to learn the lyrics and sung it in the way a soulful young white girl could, who appreciates an amazing composition.

  • There's no Poet beneath the skies; ....the voice will never arise, that could sing of my love for my dear infant eyes.

Infant eyes, you are my all, without your smile the stars would fall, and the moon would lose its glow, and the rivers would cease to flow.

  • @durgaaa ....We're only a year apart and this lovely recording graced my presence the year it was released. It remains a favorite. [Check out Wayne Shorter's original version, if you have not.] I was a student in a small college in western MA and also had the opportunity to see them perform live while in the area. They collaborated on three LP, all of which I purchased during the 70s. It was a magical time.

  • I used to sing this to my child, born to a Singer and a Musician. He could never, ever understand this beautiful connection. He became a "Rock Musical" got deeper and deeper in drugs. Need I say more? Our child tried so hard to be like his Father. I lost them both.

I listen and remember when we were still connected and one.

  • @MrHerbf she also has two other children with her ex-husband too.

  • This is the first vocal version i have heard of Wayne Shorter's beautiful ballad. This is really nice.

  • Love this song. Like so many others, I remember it from my childhood. Musical memories, that influenced my love of music (and taste level) to this day.

Thank you so much for posting it & catapulting me back to happier times.

    sorry, forgot a letter :-)

  • If you don't like this. Your taste is in your butt. I'd hate to hear what you do like.
